From time to time, someone from the UK asks me if I'll ship something to them. The rates for an average individual are terrible, about $50 for something that's 4 pounds, unless it fits in a small flat rate box, and even those little boxes are $34. And then sometimes VAT gets added, even on stuff that's used.
I always tell them to track down a forwarding service so that I don't have to put anything in the box about value, and so that they can get a better shipping rate, but I never know which services are worth using because I'm not in the UK.
Anyone here use a forwarder in the US to get stuff to the UK without using the overpriced international postage that our postal service charges, and if you do, which one and are you satisfied with it?
