It is interesting how the content posts from you and Tony are about emotions and feelings.

Most of us here are debating facts, evidence, data……it seems that you interpret that as insults.

Says the man claiming Trump wears a nappy.

More gaslighting and projection Robin.
It’s all you do.

I’ve pitched up three times in the last day to add a point about Trumps top team’s policies and not bothered as the thread has descended into childish bickering and name calling.

It would be a merciful act if the moderators decided to kill the thread imo.
I think it its an important subject, the new details are evolving daily.
It would be a shame to close the thread, there’s plenty of useful, worthwhile debate to continue this topic

I would like to see those who believe Trump was the best candidate, to make some coherent arguments supporting his appointees and his policies.

If people genuinely think Trump will be good for America, lets see their evidence.

The best candidate is the one who wins, by definition.
What you mean is who YOU think is the best candidate and they didn’t win.

So Keir Starmer is the best candidate to be running the U.K.

Given that he won; yes!
That’s how things work. The best candidate always wins. Otherwise, they woukdn’t be the best candidate.

If you’re in a race, the winner is the person who wins.

Do you think Trumps policy of increasing tariffs will be good for the USA or not?
I’m not an economist and neither are you, so I don’t really know.
You want to talk about facts but then dive into spurious economic fortune telling, based on your political grievances.

Be consistent.

I’m not an economist and neither are you, so I don’t really know.
Both of my nephews are.
So I asked them about the impacts of brexit. Simple reply We're f****d

can't come to terms with the fact they LOST.

Oh I'd agree with you there. They're still in complete and utter disbelief that the brexiteers have done something so stupid as to cut everyone's throat.

Im not surprised they're sick. But to claim its a win, given so much is lost pretty much says how thick these clowns are.

Who knows, maybe they'll go further, vote in someone like fauxrage and leave the ECHR and sign away what little rights they've got left.
They'll do it because it's got the word 'European' in it
Of course they'll be giving up all of this, but most are of such low IQ they probably won't even understand what exactly they're losing before its gone.

I’m not an economist and neither are you, so I don’t really know
but a while ago you said this:

"Trump’s view on the economy and freedom of expression, is a better direction for the US, than under that proposed by the Democrats"

So are you saying you knew back in Sept when you made the comment but you dont have a clue now

You want to talk about facts but then dive into spurious economic fortune telling, based on your political grievances.
I have stated that Trump raising tariffs means a cost to American businesses, Thats just fact
I have also stated that America cant increase its manufacturing capacity quickly and in any case it cant compete on labour cost. Thats just fact

If you are claiming I have made "spurious economic fortune telling" then please quote where I have done that

That’s how things work. The best candidate always wins. Otherwise, they woukdn’t be the best candidate.

If you’re in a race, the winner is the person who wins.
you are conflating two different things

It is true the person who wins is the winner.....that is rather self evident

being a winner does not mean they are the best candidate...........it just means they won.

Surely you can understand the difference

If you put two economists in a room, you’ll get three different answers.

How many of these ‘economists’, missed the biggest financial crash since the great depression?
Or in Alan Greenspan’s case, helped cause it?
How many economists said on leaving the EU, the sky woudl fall opn our head? Yet we’re doing better than most EU countries.

Economists are interesting people but I wouldn’t put my life savings on them.

So Keir Starmer is the best candidate to be running the U.K.
It has been proven that Starmer and his cronies are out and out duplicitous liars who have constantly lied about their intentions to the public in order to get elected. He's probably the most dishonest, incompetent and disingenuous politician the UK has seen in decades and yet you're fixated on Trump!!!

So you've not heard the expression ‘may the best candidate win’?

In truth and as usual, it is you who has got it wrong. The best candidate wins but that does not mean they are the best leader. Which is the position you’re attempting to argue on.

Well aside from Boris I agree; he lied with a cheeky smile. Starmer lies and then says ‘what you gonna to do about it’?
One is a cad, the other is more sociopathic. Both are compulsive liars.

So which of the above are we guilty of or do you suspect we will adopt or not adopt if we leave the ECHR?
Other's looking in from the outside already describe this country as becoming a police state with the right of free speech being eroded on a daily basis.

Not to mention the EU has refused to sign up tho the ECHR, as far as I know.

Boris was a porky teller no doubt but Starmer has got more faces than a town hall clock and none of them tell the correct time.

Sorry, you'll have to remind me, which lies are those again ?.

Asa to dishonest or incompetent, I really cant see how youve come to that conclusion in such little time.

He's an opportunistic and duplicitous hypocrite who lied to the public in order to be elected.
You might want to watch the video below. These aren't right wingers, they're rank and file Labour Party supporters and activists who are very disappointed in him and his government so far.
While we're on the subject, what do you think Starmer's chief achievements have been so far? Most new PMs make a habit of hitting the ground running, unfortunately Starmer seems to have fallen on butt!
