ppe

eye protection
ive been to morefields more times than id like to admit with MDF dust

i find goggles are impossibly uncomfortable and to my view (no pun intended) unsafe when they mist up

at long last ive found some sfety glasses that are genuinly optically clear AND COMFORTABLE

£12 a time but i can wear them 8 hours a day, even more important when using nail guns and pin guns

dust
being a carpenter most of my work is done outside so dust isnt so much of a hazard as in a workshop

however i use festool hazardous dust extractors even when working outside

i only tend to use dust masks (i only buy the most efficient / expensive replacable filters) when im sanding down sashes because of the lead paint

Up to now I've only used a dust mask, but after reading the forum's comments on the dangers of dust I've purchased a Trend AirAce. I've got a safety helmet with ear defenders and a full face shield but only used it for lathe work.
