Powered respirators

Are the powered respirators, on the market at the moment, suitable for paintspraying as well as woodworking. I'm intending on making some doors out of MDF and then spraying them and have seen the likes of the jps powercap and the trend airshield and these look fine for the two applications. I've tried normal face masks but these steam up my glasses as soon as I use them. Any advice would be appreciated

I use the Trend Airshield - it can be a little heavy after a while, but for short doses of an hour or so, I find it very effective.

The respirators for paint spraying have very different filters to those used for wood dust. I've always been told that the wood dust ones are a waste of time for vapours.
There are disposable masks available from several different manufactures. Try a search for Half Mask respirators and you will see several. I've always been told you need an organic vapours filter.

If you try masks with a valve then they usually solve the misting up the glasses problem, or so I've been told. The half mask type have the valves in them so you should be ok.

I use a cartridge filter mask for paint spraying. When spraying oil based paints it is so good at removing the vapours that I can't smell the paint. Hits me when I take it off though
