Although I've been on this forum quite a while I've not posted any photos.
So I thought I'd better find out about this photos mularkey

My question is not about posting but storing.

I believe photobucket & flickr are used (not that I have much idea as to what they are  )

I have recently got a BT hub and it would seem that I can store photos here too (photo vault), not sure how I maintain access on this

Now ........... say I negotiated the minefield of placing photos "somewhere" and then linking them to here to the forum.

If I was to link Photo A - what stops you nosey lot browsing everything else I place in the "somewhere"

Recommendations of the "somewhere" please with pros & cons

I believe the Photo sites have a private or public setting, no doubt someone who uses them will be along to clarify if this can be done on individual galleries/folders.

Same would apply to your BT server space I suspect.

On private server space it can be controlled with passwords or by placing an index file in the folderto control access.

Flickr does have an option to make images private and if you wish, you can share the private ones with just your friends and family. Photobucket has a way to assign a random sort of file name to the image which could a least slow someone down in getting to the rest of the images.

I used to use Photobucket exclusively but I'm like Flickr more these days. One reason is I can download a very large image but link to a smaller version of it instead. This makes it easier to fit the images to the specific forum in which I'm posting.
