Post a photo of the last thing you made

I picked this No. 4 up from a Freecycler a couple of months back. It was still in a box and was almost in a new condition. The previous owner possibly tried to 'S' the iron and put it back in back-to-front. Anyway, I cleaned it up, sharpened the iron and, as I do with most of my planes, made a new knob and handle. This helps me identify which-is-which amongst the seven No4s on the shelf. I do label the removed handles and knobs before storing them so they can be reunited with the plane they came from if required.

They are made up of Teak sandwiched between maple and mahogany veneer and sycamore outer layer.

Racing stripe! Way to go.

I did have all my saws in their covers and hanging them on hooks but then I saw other members' saw racks on the forum and thought they looked much easier to use. I found a pack of six neosomething magnets for equivalent GBP 1.50.

I'm going to nick that idea for a couple of my long-handled saws that don't sit well in their slots in my saw till.

I had a pile of used Oak skirting boards that I processed into useable planks and I decided to make a few boxes while I was at it.

Oak trinket boxes with Walnut lining and (possibly) Myrtle veneered lids.

I made a workbench last Christmas and finally got around to making some much needed drawers to go under it, it's not my main bench and often ends up as just a dumping ground for things which don't have a home, the plan is these drawers will give the homeless tools a place to live.....

It's a bit of a Rag'n'Bone Brown type build, I was on a job recently where some old cabinets were getting skipped, I thought I should try and give some of the dovetailed drawers, Blum runners and veneered MDF panels a second life.

I cut the mitres on the panel saw and added a few biscuits, all the old holes etc will be inside the cabinet so not seen.

I had to cut the drawers down in height, the only non reclaimed part I used on the whole build was a piece of Tulipwood for the bottom drawer front.

I liked the style of the old drawer pulls but the bright chrome finish was a bit too bling for me, a quick dab of patination fluid sorted that out.

I was more than happy with how it turned out

Shame the drawers are only Beech but I can't really complain considering they were free.

In it's new home ready to be filled.

Not in the league of the fine achievements I see every time I visit this thread but nevertheless I finally got around to making the 1st of 2 or 3 cd storage units. All because I have them on a shelf in my small workshop along with 100,s of vinyl albums and singles taking up valuable space .It was a case of using what I had so not perfect . I did however enjoy the whole process from design to construction so here it is …
I made a few mistakes I’m sure you will spot but overall I’m pleased with it.

The clue is in the 1st 2 pics ??, Other than that I could of sworn I had 9 shelves cut to size but it turns out 1 must of been abducted by the men in white coats so i had to find a similar one from what I had left which is a darker shade .. mistake 2 ,, the 3rd is the top which I joined with 4 dowels but because I rebated the ends when in place I lost 10mm of the 130 mm I allowed for a cd to sit in place hence the 2 sapele strips - a good save i think .. the 1st mistake I’m sure you will spot too but I hid that . Thanks for the positive comments . Hopefully I’ll get around to the others at some point ..

Looks solid to be fair, I thought the Sapele strips were a deliberate design choice...

Well I’m humbled that so many positive comments -again thankyou . A definite confidence boost . I’ll happily fess up the 1st mistake was I intended the housing joints to be stopped and not all the way through. I was concentrating so hard on not messing up with the router I forgot to mark off the stops and route out up this mark - so turned the shelves around so the cut outs are at the back and 99% hidden by the back panel .. thanks all ..
