Re-built our shower beginning of this year due to my wife's mobility issue's stepping up into the tray, to get over the level problems of joists running at right angle's to the tray used one of these as the trap: Running Tubular 'P' Trap has worked perfectly for the last five months, pics below including the trapdoor in the dining room ceiling to provide access too the trap, not needed yet, trapdoor was originally for bonding two steel beams put in to remove walls on this old flint cottage.
