Hi,
I am after some advice on he above Dovetail Jig. I have recently bought a Trend T7 Plunge Router and was wondering if this would work with the Porter cable Dovetail jig. If so would I need to buy anything else as some of the other jigs such as the UJK one require you to buy a unibase to make it compatible. Advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Dave

Hi Dave
No the Trend T7e router for the UK will not work with the Porter Cable dovetail jig 4216, I'm pulling my hair out over this as I love the jig but my router isn't compatible. The Unibase 180 won't accept the guide bushing in the base plate. I have ended up buying another router and adapter from Axminster tools. The T7 is more of an industrial kitchen fitting router etc or fine for other jobs that don't need to take the American style router guides e.g screw in type.

If you need anymore help please shout.

There's a useful guide on Axminsters site to all the adapters that they have and what routers they fit, I ended up buying an Hikoki (Hitachi) router m12ve and adapter so it's now become an expensive project. Should learn to do hand cut dovetails but I'm not that competent.
