That was three years ago Eric, I underwent surgery as the tumour hadn't spread.
The unfortunate fact of nearly all these stories is that the victims could possibly have been saved with early detection.
My GP's service has changed since my diagnosis and hopefully he will have learnt from my case. People fear the pain they associate with cancer, unfortunately this had led to the idea that if you're not in pain then you don't have cancer. It can be a fatal error!

Sometimes they just don't check things they should.

I have slight (but infuriating) brain damage from about 2-3 years ago. The signs were there in tests done at the local hospital, but my GP didn't pick up the issue. By the time he did, the damage was done (and I nearly died).

I still don't know if I'll recover decently, and on bad days I wonder if it's triggered early-onset Altzheimer's. It's not a pleasant thought.

I suffered brain damage as the result of a motor cycle accident many years ago Eric, partial paralysis, memory loss, inability to concerntrate, epilesy, vertigo.
It took some years to fully recover, so don't give up hope yet mate.

hi all 26 years ago aged 20 i went to the doctor with a lump in my testicle within 2 days i was in hospital and had the tumor removed . within a couple of months of that i had a month of radiotherapy and touch wood all ok . but until i found out i had never even left this country or done anything to talk of. i think it gave me the kick up the ar$e i needed .since then i have traveled all over the world and lived my life to the full .and have 3 wonderful children and 2 beautiful grand children . so personally i have nothing but thanks for the doctors etc . but as i keep saying to my kids if they have any health problems go straight the way any if they are not happy with anything they are told just keep going back until they are .
please don't think i'm trying to detract from any of your situations i just wanted to share my own .

Absolutely Andy! Couldn't agree more.
I've had a second chance, and I'm taking it!
