PTFE sheet about 10mm. Just had a go - my thicknesser stops at about 5mm so the sheet lets me adjust to zero if I wanted - but stopped at 1.5mm, on various scraps of beech and softwood. Just small increments or perhaps blades might snatch it up as it gets thinner......
Can do it through my thicknesser too - on the table the slippery bit of low friction plastic stuff which Steve Maskery gave me, which means can set thickness very thin.
Last time I did this for a purpose was to retread the rockers on a Thonet chair - 3 or 4 3mm layers of beech glued and cramped, shaped with spokeshaves.
I think the low friction gives the rollers a more positive grip, working against the cutters pushing back.
