planer thicknesser

Hi all,

I need to buy a planer thicknesser, budget about a grand. I've got down to either the Kity 638 (have they gone bust?), Charnwood W585 or the Record PT300. I'd be very grateful for any feedback/advice. Thanks.

Record PT 300 at the moment, I will be getting to replace a Scheppach 260
Looked well into the spec and reviews of the PT 300 and its best of the bunch at the money
