Just collected the drill, its a serious bit of British iron.
The motor is shot, the starter windings are burnt out, so it will be a 3 phase motor and the VFD I got for making my wood lathe variable speed, which is still waiting for a steel bracket fabricating to fit the motor.
A few bits missing, the return spring and housing (currently has an extension spring attached) and the depth stop. These are irritations not major problems, the big lumps are all there. As I clean it up I want to repaint it. The original paint under the overpainted smooth blue is a hammered finish. Does anyone know the original colour, its greener than hammerite blue but bluer than hammerite green. Also what has happened to Hammerite's colour range, only one blue and one green, years ago there was more choice.
Be a while before I drill a hole, but better and cheaper than a new Chineese drill.
