pictures and speed

Hi all

I've noticed one or two comments (you know who you are :lol: ) about my <cough> propensity for posting photos of work etc. :wink:

I was wondering if these are a pain-in-the-ass for members on dial-up? I do try to keep images small

How do you put those little pictures in the post and then link to bigger ones for interested parties?

I use ImageShack to host images I put on the forum. It's free which is nice and they keep the pictures for a year since last access. For instance, here is the wood from our elms, taken with my phone - hence crappy quality but you get the idea.



Once you've uploaded an image, they give you loads of options for display, from just the image URL through to this thumbnail code.

Yes Tony, they are a PIA, all these pictures. I have one plea - keep them coming.
Not saying it brightens up my day or anything.... but adds interest. And that goes for everybody who wants to gloat, get opinions on projects etc. The more images the better.
Imageshack? Just got the hang of uploadit.org and happy with it.

Hi Tony

I use the service that Adam recommended, pbase.com, as it automatically gives you three sizes of photo that you can link to and hopefully, it is not a pia to dial-up users.
