Good day

My wife ordered another 3 picture frames (I made 2 a few days ago) and I decided to take a few pics so you can see my "Amatorski" working methods.

Still, I have to make rabbets for the glass and back-cover, and mortise (Well, groove) for loose tenon.

One frame if made of Lauan and the other two, of Oak because...that's what I found in the garage attic...

The main problem is, that she don't want me to use any finish or as she said "natural wood" and that makes a little bit of a problem with mistakes so, I hope that all the mistakes will be at the back part of the frame...

Regards
niki

nice work Niki, it's good to see your vast collection of jigs being used in sequence. Your makita saw is really quite versatile with your accessories! :)

I have a question on the strip-cutting jig though; do you have to measure and move the fence for each strip to ensure they are the same dimensions, or am I not understanding it's purpose correctly?

Thank you ByronBlack

You can not tell from the picture but this Makita has 100 teeth and I use it normally when I want "finished" work...

The "Strips cutting jig" is simply a piece of Melamine board with a`pusher (or stop) at the end. The pusher is slotted so I can adjust it for the strip width.

To set it, I just push it to the fence (you can even clamp the jig to the fence) and set the distance as usual just that you don't read on the fence line but on the jig line. On the pics, it is set to 35 mm and all the "strips" (if you can call 35mm - a strip) will be exactly the same width -35mm.

I see - now that I've had my breakfast, my brain is now working and I can see how it works - what an excellent idea. Do you have a collection of all your Jigs in a PDF or word document? I'm in a situation now where I would like to concentrate on making jigs and expanding the versatility of my saw and your idea's seem to stand head and shoulders over most jigs I see.

Great to see the jig,s in use Niki thanks for posting such useful information.

If you scroll down towards the end of that thread, you'll find I made a PDF of all the jigs listed there - Just click the link and save to your PC.

Niki - Excellent work on the picture frames - I wish I had your collection of jigs - It'd take me months to make them all.

Fecn - good job, I downloaded the PDF earlier and have been reading through it for the last couple of hours! I don't know where to start, so many amazingly brilliant and useful jigs!
