Pen Turning for Beginners.

SWMBO has decided that she'd like to take up Pen Turning...

I don't want to discourage her, but she does have a habit of starting these things (we have candle making kits, painting kits and a keyboard lying around waiting for interest to blossom) so I don't want to spend a lot of money.

Can anyone advise what the minimum is I need to get her started?
