Has anyone recently had rear parking sensors fitted to their vehicle?
Would you recommend the person/company that did the job?
West Yorkshire area near BD postcode.
(Just been quoted £450 from main dealer!!) 8-(

Thanks for any feedback.

Regards
Gerry

£450 is enough to repair at least one parking shunt, so the economics look questionable. Let alone the obvious affront to your driving manliness. :?

what car is it? the specialist forums for that make and model may well have somebody local who has done it and is happy to do the same again.

handy things the parking sensors. I love the things on my Disco. Well, i mean my wife does.

as marcros says we need to know the vehicle, the kits themselves are not expensive, it is the labour involved in drilling the holes (in the right places!) and then running the cables to a central point. with todays cars getting cables from one part of the car to another can take ages but the proffessionals who do it all the time know the short cuts

Flying haggis has stolen my thunder, agree completely with him.

I can't help with any recommendations for installers, but do look up any mobile car audio/car security/alarm installers. Explain to them by phone your car, whether you have a system already or not and see what they say.

I've always enjoyed installing car audio and 12v electronics but over the last ten years car manufacturers make it increasingly awkward to retrofit improvements on to a car. the kit isn't actually that expensive, and you could probably do a DIY job but you have to consider how much time it will take, the potential for errors (eg. drilling the right hole sizes in the right location in the bumper for the sensors) and most importantly figure out the best cable run for the power supply.

Parking sensors vary in quality, and knowing the industry it's very difficult to engage a fitter who will provide the best solution. Have you thought of a reversing camera? Easy to fit yourself and if you get a wifi system no wires, holes etc. a nice colour system will be less than you have been quoted and often you can find them with other built in features.

I don't sell reversing cameras. I have sold other rear car body parts including parking sensors in my life.
