I have one or two projects that I am currently in the middle of.
These are made of Birch Ply, which although has a nice blemish free finish does look a bit bland, so im thinking of using a paint finish on them.
What paints do other members on here use (spray paints, brush applied paints) and where do you source them?
Thanks in advance.

I use acrylic paints from Hobbies. When I make things from birch ply I give them two coats. There is no need for any sort of sealer. It is important to leave a gap of 24 hours between coats and then you will get a more professional finish. I also use spray paints, the sort that are used for car spraying and buy them off e-bay. The secret of a good spray finish is very light coats and several of them. The advantage of a spray finish is that it is easy to get into the nooks and crannies that would prove difficult with a brush. If you use the acrylic paints I have found a really good brush aids a good finish and use brushes with 50/50 natural hair/man made hair. You may well pay £15 for a really decent brush. After the first coat has fully dried sand off any areas where the grain has been raised with something like 320 grit abrasive.
