Like it or not, there's only x number of days till Christmas, personally I bloody hate christmas....ho ho ho, grump grump grump, but in an effort to remove money from unsuspecting punters it has to be done.....

Wish I'd seen those plans and guide, I just made it up as I went along from a photo!

I've tried a few ways for the wings, but what seems to work for me is a square blank about 15mm thick, mark the circle with a compass and draw a line through the centre. About 12mm in from the circumference and on the diameter line make a bradawl mark, one for each hole. These I bore out with a 35mm TCT hinge cutter in a pillar drill. Then a hole in the centre for the screw chuck. Put it on the lathe, face it off and roughly round it, reverse the wings on the screw chuck and finish the rounding, giving it a slightly 'swept back' curve. The TCT cutter gives a great finish - no burning and the whole process is reasonably quick.
