online suppliers?

Hi all
I was just wondering if any of you use or could recommend online suppliers of woodfor small-medium sized projects?
Most timber suppliers want me to buy tonnes of the stuff, so I was hoping there was an online supplier who caters for 'at home woodworkers'

I use S& L hardwoods http://www.slhardwoods.co.uk/ who are okay on the quantity thing and deliver uk wide.

We might be able to help. We do sell to quite a few small joinery companies, for instance, in the Yorkshire area in small orders at a time. Due to nature of our current warehouses (they are not that wide so you have to get all packs out in front to get the packs from the back out) if you're looking for a timber that isn't easily available (i.e. it's at the back of the warehouse) we might not be able to do orders of a few boards unless you tell us in advance so we can get them out ready while moving for larger orders. We stock quite a few different hardwoods including prime and pippy oak, black walnut, maple, ash, tulipwood, sometimes mahogany, obeche, check our website for more. I'm mostly a turner, and generally get by with logs from tree surgeons, etc. However, I've had a few jobs that needed dried timber blanks, and I've used Stiles and Bates for some of those. I was very impressed with the fast and friendly service and the good quality of the timber they supplied.

I deal with the eSales side of Whitmore's, we'll do anything from a single board... normally if its just a few pieces and it doesn't weigh too much then we can send it out on carrier which speeds up delivery. If not and you require a bit more than a few boards we can deliver using our haulier.

We offer everything from boards to cut, to sawn-to-size & machining to profiles or PAR.

We've even started to sell small packs of certain species.
