Online source for 3M 7500 P3 filters?

Hi,

Sorry I have been posting a lot of new threads recently but it's all in the interest of getting in to the workshop. Once I'm safe to go in there I'll stop.

I have bought a 3M 7500 mask to tide me over until I can afford a powered respirator for wood turning. I hear the P3 filters for the mask last for approximately one month of daily use which, as a weekend and evening worker, should last me until I can buy a JSP Powercap or similar.

I'm having a problem locating reasonably priced filters. I got the mask itself for £20 on amazon, which was probably the cheapest I could find from a reliable looking seller. I've found a few sets of filters for around a fiver, but once VAT and delivery is added on it starts approaching the price of the mask itself. I know it's a small price to pay for safety, but if I can find it cheaper elsewhere then it's all going to add up to the price of a new gouge or something somewhere down the line.

Axminster do sets for £50, but not on their own, which is a pain because I have a pink grinding wheel from them in my shopping basket. I'd buy that many if I was planning on keeping the mask for a while, but at £70 for both, that's pretty much half way to the price of a powered unit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can't help on the filter source but I think your priorities are skewed, you need a grinder, you don't need pink grinding wheels.

You really do need dust mask filters, you certainly don't need to go on a lung transplant waiting list.

I bought the set of 10 pairs from Axy because per unit they were actually about the cheapest. They will get used even if it takes a few years

I've secured a grinder. It's a cheap own-brand with two grey wheels so I'm replacing one of them with a pink wheel. I would have liked to get a set of filters from Axminster in the same order, but they only do the large sets. I just wanted one set for now, then if I decide I'm keeping with the 3M for a little longer instead of upgrading I'll get the £50 set.

Most of the safety supply stores seem well priced but once you add VAT and delivery you're paying double.

I think I'll probably resort to ebay.
