Hi.

I posted this request a little while ago but haven't had much luck aside from one user on eBay who sold me some stock for cheap.

I'm after as much pear wood as I can get my hands on, workshop space permitting, for as cheap as possible. Preferably native, preferably steamed but I'm flexible on both. I need to make a decent amount of pieces. I've tried various online retailers but the prices aren't great and delivery is a pain when it's coming from the other side of the country.

Does anyone know of anywhere in the north west that sells pear at a reasonable price? the closer to the Bolton/Wigan area the better. Alternatively does anyone have any pear they're looking to sell off? I'm after whatever sizes I can get my hands on, from small blanks to boards as wide and thick as possible.

Cheers.

I'm familiar with the Timberline stocks of Pear as I've bought plenty of it. The 1" stuff has been well picked over, the 2" stuff contains some excellent boards but you'd be well advised to go through it in person as there's quite a quality spectrum and Pear is prone to internal bark inclusions that can really mess up your cutting list.

Good luck.
