I just bought a second hand Startrite Tilt Arbor 145 (I think), no manual with it and I want to check all the bits and pieces are there and that's it's safe to use. Anyone got one of these?

Cheers,

Jase.

Hey there,

I've found direct contact (email) with Startrite or Record very helpful and on each occasion they were able to provide me with a PDF of the relevant manual.

Hi Jase
I use a TA 145 and should be able to help.
We have a manual but it's dreadfull - all text about keeping your necktie out of the spinny bits and setting/swaging blades!
Altsawsandspares.co.uk are the best people to contact for parts/help.
If you can get pictures on here I can see any obvious problems.
There were a few variants (deluxe etc) If you google "startrite+scrit" you'll find all sorts of pictures and sage advice that will help.

Bob - Cheers for the link, no specific luck though.
Matt - I've been contacted by altsawspares as they were passed my details by startrite when I asked them if they had one, So I may contact them as they also reckon they can get me a part of the fine adjustment assembly that's missing.

Cheers to everyone for help, first time using this forum and was pleased to be getting some good advice.

Might make you chuckle to know that I got a sparky to come in over Christmas whilst I was away to wire it in and have just found out that he's made a bit of a cockup and the saw is running in reverse, he'll be coming back.

Sorry about that. I did not check before passing on the link.

There is one here for 20 notes http://www.machines4wood.com/mall/produ ... MAST/80908

There is also a chap on ebay who does manual photo copies http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/fazerblazer/
Usually about a tenner plus post.

Just pop the blade in backwards and work from the back of the machine
