Thanks all for appreciating my job
I removed rust using vinegar. I left the plane parts in a bath for a couple a days, washed with water and nylon brush and then I used a wire brush mounted on the drill press for removing rust.
Sole and sides has been flatted and polished simply using abrasive paper (80 and 150 grit) sticked to a glass plate.
If you wish square sides you could use a square shoulder against wich to keep the plane sole during the abrasive action.
