OK to use 2MT sleeve on 1MT?

Are there any reasons not to use a 2MT sleeve on a 1MT drive?
Obviously if I was buying new I'd buy the 2MT but if I find a 1MT bargain? Do the sleeves work well?

I have seven or eight. Perfectly OK for our usage. Drill bits up to 14mm iirc only come in 1MT and save using a chuck on the tailstock.

I bought mt1 before I knew the difference, I have since bought a sleeve mt1 to mt2 so the I can use the live centers

No particular reason not to, but they do add to the overhang if you are short on bed length. Bought some when I upgraded my lathe 10 years ago and still use them on mt1 things I don't use enough to spend out on replacing

Using a sleeve might reduce accuracy but not to the point where it would be a problem as far as turning wood goes. I use MT sleeves from time to time and have never found it a problem other than separating the two afterwards! (before you ask, yes I have a drift!)
