Thanks for the info re silcone. I reckon PTFE light oil is what I need. The saw has been sitting for years, Its also never really been used much either. Its in very good condition with no wear at all. With sitting in an old steading every adjustment has become very stiff or seazed . Have taken it apart and cleaned it up as well as making a new bed as MDF and damp don't mix well. Will sparingly oil only the adjustment parts and also the rollers as they seem slightly rough. Probably a bit of damp got in with it sitting for so long.

Before you oil the rollers, feel and clean the track they run on. Whenever my saw feels rough it's because the track is covered in crud or dust. I never oil or lubricate the track or rollers and haven't in well over 30 years. The top rubber dust chute sometimes needs adjusting so waste is directed away.
