my lad had a nerve block in his leg when he had a bone infection last summer and post op, when he came round he thought he'd been amputated. Screamed the place down until we showed him his leg was still there. It really freaked him out (only 8) and had bad dreams for some time afterwards. So blocks aren't always a good thing !

Ah, shoulder problems affect woodturners too! As a long term rock climber and mountaineer, I too have a rotor cuff injury (chronic -19 months now) caused by a sudden drop onto one out stretched arm ... but I stayed in place! Should have let go. Now into frozen shoulder mode. Although I still have good range of movement compared to most it has reduced my climbing standard to that of of a bumbly beginner. MRI now booked with subsequent procedure to follow shortly after, probably arthroscopy.
Also had tennis elbow, from Morris dancing (big sticks etc!), that was solved by acupuncture.
So its good to read of other's shoulder woes and their recovery and best wishes to those still struggling.
Back to wood related things, I like the egg cups and the roll holder. The best sticks we used for morris were usually yew or holly btw. Have a load that were too thin for this awaiting transformation into ...... who knows what!
