I made this a little while ago and put it up in my bathroom. Not long after mum came round to see me and at some point saw the shelves. She liked them and said that they look nice there. A week later she was on the phone asking if she could buy them to put in their new house. Well I thought about it over night and I could not turn down the offer. Money does do funny things to ones head. So now it's in my parents house and here is a couple of photo's.

Comments welcome.

Very neat and tidy, only the one question and it relates to the knot in the left drawer. Did you fill this prior to finishing?

Thanks Waka, the oak was new floor boards all the way from Japan, I had some leftover from a job. They use a dark filler on the finished surface which I think makes a nice statement of the knot/s. So as to your question is no I didn't but they did. Many Thanks.

Very nice, Malcolm. :)

How are the shelves fixed in place? (Don't say screws...)

SCREWS!!!!!!! Thats almost as bad as NAILS. No couldn't get away with that. They are sliding dovetails which I do on the woodrat and then traditionally glued using pearl glue. Thanks for the question.

Agree with all the about comments, nice workmanship but taking money off your own Mum [-X
