Hello all.
I've recently made a friend of mine a soap dish in oak as a house-warming gift / clutter.
Oak isn't perhaps the wisest choice of wood, but there you go. I've asked three people their opinion on how it should be finished:
Time served professional shop-fitter - yacht varnish.
Uncle (good semi-pro hobbyist) - exterior oil based wood stain.
Mate - very practical, kind of guy that can do everything to a very good standard - linseed, just re-apply when needed.
What are your thoughts?
