Had a phone call from my skip diver "found some oak panelling in a skip , do you want it ?" Yes of course, and in my mind I could see the kind of the panelling in Parliament
The reality was very different
Took it in the workshop to dismantle it. The depth of the mortise and tennons and the fact they were pegged meant that the longest piece from the rails was about 15". The panels were OK but are only about 10mm thick. These were held in with beading, nailed in with too may nails so all of the pieces have lots of nail holes in.
This is what I ended up with, along with two bags of firewood for the lady over the road.
Now what can I do with it ??? :? :? :? :?
