Hi chaps and chapesses.
i bought a second hand lathe in september last year and have been making sawdust since then. a few disasters along the short way, and a couple of near death experiences too!
to date i have created two standard bowls, two winged bowls, various mushrooms, spinning tops and tea light holders. the latest project is a goblet, which, at the moment is still stuck to the faceplate because the lathe is out of action.
disaster struck last week when the motor burnt out , fair do's tho the machine was built in 1979!
anyway i have fitted a new motor which purrs like a little puddy kat. i struggled to remove the pulleys from the old motor so took it to a local garage i use to seperate them, sadly the pulleys have broke. despite a night soaking in plusgas releasing fluid they were just too well stuck (hammer)
so, what i am asking is, where can i buy a set of 3 step pulleys?
the lathe is a lanus sp1000 if its any help, made in sweden.
thanks for all the advice and hints on the site, i have looked at a fair few picture of your work too, to give me some ideas for my future projects.
much appreciated
moby.
(why didnt the smilies work?)
