Today my Bosch green hammer drill died. Or rather my heavy handed son killed it!

I think I have had it for 30+ years so it does not owe me, as it has had a hard working life
It looks like a replacement is going to be £45 from bnq

I guess I paid a similar amount all those years ago, but I earn more in a month than I earned in a year back then.

Replace it with a cheap SDS, far better than the old hammer drills and no more expensive.

They have just found ways of making things cheaper, don't expect the new one to last as long.

I have used in the last two days blue Bosch tools 19, 25 and 30 years old. My only other bit of blue Bosch was an SDS drill that burned out after two years and little work about ten years ago. I'll be surprised if much of today's stuff will do 10 years let alone 30.

I know. But the next one should see me out.

I am still using those 7.5 v Bosch nicad battery drills you gave me about 5 years ago :D

Get a battery one then. A battery one and a big SDS. I thought that was what everyone had? :D

I've got a Stanley 5803.

No cable, no battery, expected working life 50+ years. :D
