Non Axminster branded Numatic's.

Hello,

I was thinking about buying the NUMATIC NVD750 from Axminster, but it's now out of stock on the Axminster site : (

It looks to fit most of my needs, will work with my power tools and probably do a reasonable job with a bandsaw and light work with a thicknesser. Cost is high though, but considering it should last for a long time it might be worth the investment.

Since they are out off stock at Axminster, I was looking to see if I could get the similar model else where. Machine Mart have the Numatic NVD750-2, but what puzzles me about the machine mart one is it does not seem to have the cap on the top while the one linked below is red as well but does have the cap!

Does any one have any experience with the non Axminster branded version of this - are they the same?

I have the Axminster branded version with the twin motors, I have had it for a few years. its been good on its own but less than ideal with a cyclone, it works but only just. The NVD is high pressure not high flow, and you need the flow to create the vortex in the cyclone. I now have all the ducting and cyclone in place so need to get the most out of it.

So I ordered an Axminster Craft AC153E a few weeks ago, it was on back order, should arrive in about a week I believe, it should have a lot more flow.

The NVD has been great, its still in good nick, no rust etc. and worked fine with in my workshop before I extended the 100mm ducting to the barn below. If the new one works as I expect with the cyclone I may sell the NVD. When I bought the NVD my workshop was a lot smaller, I guess I have grown out of it. Mine predates the trolley, I think that was an option at the time.

If I was closer I would jump at the chance of buying off you. Your needs sound a bit different to mine, I am moving from a double garage (I had a ducted system) to a small outbuilding (very small), so the hose will just move between the machines. I like the idea of the NVD as I am hoping it should contain most of the dust safely when connected to a power tool and not float in to the house.

If I get to the stage again where I have chip producing machines (sold my planer thicknesser/bandsaw as they were too big), then I would get a chip extractor as well. I agree that one machine can't really do it all and a combination of both is best, but for now it's just an occasional hobby and I am not producing mountains of chips one machine will hopefully do.
