Well - We are finally done!!
We started back in Feb and decided we were going to build a new garage and workshop for yours truly. I have posted some pics here of the build process and will post some pics of the workshop kit out in a separate message. I have not detailed any of the garage build but if anyone is interested I have photos so I could.
The main reason it has taken so long is that we live on the side of a valley so the building process has required (for the garage especially) we dig a big hole in the valley side, build the structure, and then put the valley back on top. The workshop is also build into the valley side to keep the front wall in line with the previous shed.
So, here goes.......
My shed / workshop as it was........
So, it had to come down first..........
And the bank dug out.....
Footings going in .........
A bit of a jump forward in time now, but the garage is now well on the way (in the main foreground) The workshop base went down, and the walls are on the way (three thick at the back, outer two ties together and filled with concrete, inner face lined with w/p membrane and inner cavity course built. Front / side walls simple cavity construction.
Starting to take shape now...........
Roof going on...........
To help the light, painting the walls white.........
To easy the load on my feet I have put a floating floor down. 3/4 marine ply over a 2" foam insulation.
Job done!!!!!!!! (notice - shoes off!!!!! - not sure what I thought I was doing)
And the outside finished as today (23/9/06) .........
