On the contrary. I found it very very useful. I bought a tap for my lathe a while back but could never get my head around the process. Bob's videos are great for seeing something in real time. I can't tell you how valuable that is. Beal don't do taps in M33 which is a shame as they look a bit friendlier than my tap. I always though you had the lathe running while tapping. Make sense to do it by hand and the CA trick is worth knowing. I'm going to try this soon.

Thanks very much Bob.

Ian, if you think you can do better... Go ahead.

Wow almost as dull as watching big brother !! surely you could edit it a lot, down to say 10 minutes for the whole thing
Good info but way overlong
No the best bit of Bob's videos is the being in the shop with Bob, the banter about why he does things, what he finds useful and how the job turns out. These are not posted as tight 'how to videos' they are an invite into a shop to see a work in progress and I have learnt a lot from them. 8)

Bob, thanks for continuing with the posting, another good set, like Tom the CA trick is one I am going to try, having failed with cutting a ½" thread with a die on some padouk.

If i were paying for Bobs demo's i'd want as long as possible, not 10 minutes, and that what i feel i get when Bob posts his video's - personal demo..

Thanks Bob - i'll watch this at lunch.

Very interesting Bob, keep em coming  .No probs for me the length of them, the longer the better.
Thanks
Steve

Interesting & informative as always Bob, thanks for taking the time out to do this.

Not so sure about the choice of footwear for the workshop though! Having dropped stuff before I know that's going to hurt.

Cheers,

Neil.

Hi All

After watching the rest of the playlist, when bob cut the shoulder, it reminded me of a trick I was shown when I was a nipper at school.

This was when tap or die for metal, we only had them that started the main thread quick, so was hard to get started. So what we would do was file a small bit round the top, either making a shamferd top for the die to sit on of a flared hole for the tap to center in.

Hope that of help to some of you.

( sorry, couldn't resist that ! )..

Someone go for a drink this lunchtime did we ?? :D :D

I disagree with all the people who want the videos kept the same length...I want them longer, much, much longer because I just love watching them, again, and again, and...
