I had a long and slightly heated discussion with Derek about the degree to which his jig controls the curve in the blade.

BB

It never occured to me that we were being "heated". I always enjoy our discussions, Paul. Still, I maintain that most of the control comes from the jig, and only a little skill is required from the hand that guides it.

His (jig) is much simpler to arrange but requires some skill and marking out?

David

My jig requires minimal skill to mark out - just a compass. Scribe the radius you want (e.g. 3"), sand this off on a belt or disk sander or use a rasp, and clamp to the iron. Made out of scrap/off cuts, I have on hand several jigs with different radii that can be used as needed.

Regards from Perth

Derek
