what sort of thing to you plan to do on the farm

Thanks Katomi

First thing we need to do is to make about 400 Tongue and groove boards from Pine planks we have already. Not sure if we should buy a Table Saw for this or a Router. We are on a tight budget so can't afford anything too expensive!

Hiya again

I am going to send you a pm after I have done tea for us

In the mean time can you let me know how thick your planks are plus the depth

Ta

Thanks so much. I'm at home now and not on the farm . Think the boards are approx 18cm width x 2cms depth. Various lengths from 1.5 mtrs to 3mtrs. Believe it not they had been used on a film set. We thought they were already T& G but they're not.
We have quite a lot more to do so have decided, rather than buy readymade T& G we'll buy timber planks for the rest as we want them approx 20 cms wide. Not sure what depth we should buy . 1.5 cms ?

Would you not want them to be the same thickness as your other ( pine ) boards . I guess it depends on how much of the pine boards you have and how many you need to buy . Is this for flooring? Or other use .. as for the method im thinking a router will be a better choice than a tablesaw. As you have a lot to make then a router table will be safer and quicker ..
