Welcome Steve, from another ex pat (but I went "the other way" - to Switzerland).
Don't know much about old US or Canadian machinery, but aren't I right in thinking that my Excalibur scroll saw is "Canadian"? I used the quotes around Canadian because although I know my machine was made in Taiwan (for/under licence to General International, also a Canadian firm), am I not right in thinking that the original design of my saw was from a Canadian gent who sold out to GI? It really is a very good design.
And BTW, although it's made in Taiwan my saw is a very fine bit of kit indeed - materials, nuts & bolts, bearing, tolerances, and assembly, are obviously very closely specified and controlled indeed - presumably by GI themselves?
But keep up the old machine pix anyway please - always interesting.
