hello everyone, im new here and am in need of help, i have an axminster pillar drill model no: 100084, im trying to find a new motor but im not having much luck can anyone help point me in the right direction ?

A new motor will not be cheap, if it’s a hobby model bin it.
ive already contacted them and im waiting for there technical deparment to ring me back as when i called i was given the wrong part number and if the person i spoke to last is right a replacment motor is nearly as expensive as a new drill so would like to see if theres any other options for a more affordable motor

Depends what fitting the existing motor uses. If (like the old Fobcos etc.) it's just a standard foot mounting motor, then you can buy the appropriate equivalent off Ebay or similar, and just stick it on (and it will quite likely be better quality than the original or like-for-like replacement). If it's a flange mounting one, then it's more difficult, but not impossible.

Pretty much every modern pillar drill I have seen has a standard foot mounted motor fitted.
I had to replace mine recently (cracked motor casing - don't ask). It was quite literaly a 15 minute job.
The motor I used was a generic foot mounted one that has been sat under the bench for a while.
With modern metric motors provided you go for the same size the mountings and shaft size are standard.
