Hi John,

Interesting post, i'll be interested to see how it out comes out.. I too need to make a new handle for a Jap saw, I also get a bit of cramp when using.

I did that to a spare dozui blade I had knocking about some time back, as you say not a thing of great beauty, mine is called frankensaw, its uglier than an ugly thing on ugly day.

Very good, John!
I had a Shark brand Jap saw and the handle on that was angled in the same way. Much more comfortable - well, to those of us used to Western saws :lol:

good job!! I'll definitetly be doing this to my saws - hopefully will then cut out the hand-cramps I sometimes experience

John, looks great to me. =D> I went even more Western on mine and lopped the handle off right down level to the heel - never even occurred to me to do it that way. #-o
