We won't be moving into nursing homes, the country can't afford them after being bled dry by hordes of EU do gooders - plus there won't be enough migrant workers around to run them.

That must've cost almost as much as the Scottish parliament building....

Which bit did the UK pay for?

To my eye it looks unfinished the part made of the old window frames looks from a distance like scaffolding and the lantern looks like that monoflex you see on scaffolded building sites.

Has it got a nickname? At least in the UK we give great names to our new buildings whether they are gherkins, cheesegraters or walkie talkies :D

As an industrial window cleaner that me feel a bit ill there for a second.

I predict it will be covered in pigeon poop in no time....

As usual, the old English codgers are proving to be an embarrassment. Sooner they get into that nursing home the better. I do apologise to any foreign woodworkers who also read this forum, the louters can't help themselves.
I may be an old codger and wear it with pride but it is not me nor the English that are causing the trouble at the tunnel. As I said before people have a short memory.

We aren't getting out old man. There's almost certainly going to be an interim period. Those interim periods can last years, just enough to see the old louters out.
Cheers. Salut!!!

I agree
They will drag their heels for years rather than obey the electorate
However it won't be long before there is nothing to get out of

Italian bloke has gone
French bloke is going
German woman the same

The rest don't count as they are only representing states who take more than they give

Not so sure about Merkel. I am in Germany now. Despite everything, the locals are coming round to the idea of re-electing her. Lack of credible alternatives being an issue.

I will contribute.
The french can collectively pi$$ up their legs and play with the steam.

That's very profound of you :D

Not keen on the beggars Jim

Without wanting to sound anti french, I think maybe they are starting to realise that with UK gone the money required to fund EU will go up for france as well as everyone else, they will have a higher portion of refugees to deal with and no buffer between them and the Germans :)

The EU leaders have all acted like the jilted wife, threatening to take everything and cut off access. Which just proves they had no respect for us in the first place.

as for that £50 billion bill... shove it.

Getting back closer to the OPs original post.

After 12 years of living here we haven't had any trouble with the Frebch. But
1. There's NO way that we would use the tunnel and
2. We live in a good bit.

The biggest problem we have is when we fly in to Stansted and spend christ knows how much time getting through the ridiculous so called automatic passport system! (hammer)

The Severn bridges? A mixed blessing and Offa's **** could do with being dug at least 50 or so yards deeper

Please moderate the Racial insults, reasoned comments are one thing, down right racially orientated comments of whatever nation, continental or British isles based will see threads locked and members getting a posting holiday.

Think about what you are saying, you are actually insulting some long standing forum members and their family members who do not see the wise cracks as amusing.

I can see nothing racist at all
Touch of xenophobia maybe, but they are two dramatically different things

I have no problem with any peoples of the EU, however the attitude of their leaders is so self serving it is the very reason why so many people voted to leave the EU. If the channel tunnel continues to be a problem we shall just holiday in the UK in future and the French will be the losers, the trouble really seems to be a case of cutting off their nose to spite their face. I have many friends in France in future they will have to visit me instead of the other way about. Nationalism by the way is not racist. Bring back Robertsons gollies thats what I say. PC has gone too far.
