Thanks for the comments, all. (Even Mike :) ) Trying to find a balance between too much and not enough detail is difficult, as the range of comments here point out. I think the first few videos pretty much covered the way I sand so I plan to edit out the sanding in future projects as I did in this one. I have made a start at adding annotations (subtitles) to the segments each time I change tools to at least say what the new tool is. I have done segments 1 to 4 and 9 and 10 so far. I hope that will help make things clearer.

Take care
Bob

Bob you need a cameraman.....Pay my ticket and I'll help you out

Hi Bob,

Another winner for me!

Now off to check what suitable timber I've got to try one of these, probably means eBay next!

Could you remind me what the finish is that you use please? If it's a proprietary brand do you know what's in it? Also, how does it age? Sorry about all the questions!

Cheers,

Neil.

Thanks Bob.

I have a vague feeling, but not sure, so can anyone this side of 'the pond' confirm for me if 'mineral oil' is the same as liquid paraffin oil?

Cheers,

Neil.

Cheers Tom, don't suppose you know of an 'equivalent' mix of beeswax/paraffin oil for sale over here?
Neil,

We could buy some of the beeswax Mike (I am not a turner) has found and have a go at making a mix?

I'm not aware of the beeswax that "Mike (I am not a turner) has found". Tell me more?

Take a look at this thread, I would like to buy some but not sure I would every use a bucket full. [-(
So a combined buy could be on the cards, unless of course you want half a barrel?

I have done some research into this. Personally I'd want to add carnuaba as I don't think beeswax is hard enough on it's own. I have some recipes prepared and am going to experiment.

I do have a small tub of the Claphams stuff (that Bob sent me) and it's nice to use, but does not buff up very well. It's almost like applying an oil.
