This is a picture of the collection of Nettlefolds wood-screws i have just rescued from my late uncles workshop, his children were going to bin them so I offered to take them on not realising how many he had squirrelled away!
All his life he worked at a factory making farm machinery and when they closed down about 25 years ago they threw all the screws in a skip and he could not bear to see them wasted, there are some very odd sizes inc 3" x 6 3 1/2" x 16 and 1/2" x 14 etc which were used in elevator manufacture.
Many of these screws are well over 70 years old yet are in perfect shiny condition! every singe one is made in England and most are in unopened boxes, God knows what I will do with them!
