Hello!

I wondered if anyone could help me?

Just recieved a Camvac Cgv386-5 90l to help solve the dust problem in the workshop (HVLP unit is just struggling to deal with the fine dust).

Interestingly both the printed and online manual (3.5 July 2023) only refer to the wall mounted CGV286-3-WALL, not ideal as it does not have the inner large canvas bag listed as CVA386-20-101. The other record tools I have used have had simple, clear instructions. This set do not directly reference the set up for the product they come with, just the CGV286-3-WALL.

The printed instructions and the PDF instructions on the record power webisite make no clear reference to how and where to fit the large canvas 'bag', CVA386-20-101,to see the item please look at photo 1.

It would seem logical to fit into the collecter body to act as a filter and then shut the lid with the retaining strap handle, indeed if you look closely at some of the pictures in the instructions you can see if positioned that way. See photo 2 to see how I think, it should fit.

BUT and it is a big but, when I try to shut the retaining strap handle you have to apply a lot of force, a very large amount of force, comparable to say 40- 60kg'ish force, it works fine with out the bag, shuts easly with a suitable fit and force, similar to the 'blue expedition barrels' I use for work have the same system for closing.

These barrels are waterproof and sealed for work on white water etc, so when the shut you know that can keep out a very strong force of water. You know the 'blue expedition barrels are cross loaded etc when you have to put to much pressure on the retaining strap handle, the strap on the camvac feels similar i.e if I force it the single rivit will fail.
  • Is the bag in the right place?
  • Does your one need a huge amount of force?
  • Have I set it up correctly?
  • Is there a secret set of instructions I have missed?
With thanks,

Simon
