I've been given a £30 amazon gift voucher.
Never bought from amazon, any ideas how to find something woodworking to buy? i could add money to the voucher I presume?

Bob,

You can buy anything from a safety pin to a baby-elephant at Amazon. Choose the department, and do a search for what you seek.
Sometimes the prices are keen, sometimes they're not.

I don't know about redeeming vouchers, but I should imagine you can 'top-up'. Don't take too much notice of the reviews; sometimes the same set of customer reviews are used for different makes of the same item; and as such don't mean very much.

Best of luck.

John :D

When you come to pay, you redeem the voucher against the total cost and then you can pay the difference. So yes, you can top up :)

about the only thing i really need is the makita thicknesser. its £10 dearer on amazon than ebay, but if i use my voucher i save only £20 instead of £30. decisions decisions.....

I would trust Amazon before Ebay.

And if you go back a few times to Amazon looking at the Makita you are creating a cookie and you never know what offers might come along. Type Makita into google at the price you want and see what comes along during the next few days.

Watch the postage costs!
What can be cheap to buy, costs a fortune to post.

That 50 quid included shipping. the item alone was only £27. But then I have import duties which makes it all academic. I can make something for a lot less than a 100.

If I can get the machine for 50% off retail, in the UK, why the hell cant I buy the dust catcher at all?
