Hi Guys hope you've all had a good week. I'm looking for a bit of advice, I have inherited a very old Dewalt bandsaw (Last made in 1998) and I'm looking to sell it purely because I have no use for it (I have 2 already)

The bandsaw is a dewalt DW 3501, it comes with original books & comes with blades (obviously these aren't original, they are brand new though still in sealed bags)

I've turned the machine on and it's all working, needs a tiny amount of work where the stickers have peeled away from the metal. But that's it. The two wheels are aligned and work perfectly. I've cleaned the inside of the machine out (my uncle had it before, god know's how long it had been before I cleaned it) It also comes on an original stand.

Does anyone know a rough price? Where would be best to sell it? Obviously it's too big to put in the post.

Thanks guys.

From a quick google it looks like £200 top end but as always will very much depend on condition

I see there's two on fleabay, one for £199.00, but can't see a fence or mitre gauge and a second for £275.00.with just the fence.
I suggest you compare the machines with yours and price accordingly, as you have the handbook, etc.
As you are probably aware, spares are available for these.

Hi Chris

I think you'll be lucky to get as much as £200 but worth a go on ebay 'cos there's always someone who might pay. It will be interesting to see if any takers for those on ebay.
I sold mine locally a few months ago for £150 which I think was a very fair price for one in good condition, I did post in for sale on here but no takers. One of the other members on here got around £100 I think.

the year of manufacture should be on the plate btw.
cheers
Bob

Realistically about £150 would be a good price on this model. It is a good machine to start with and with the right blade (Tuffsaw) it should be a good 'Starter' for someone.

A very old DeWalt bandsaw;-)
"Very old" would normally refere to a woodworking machine made before year 1900...... whitemetal bearings and flat belt drive......

Good luck selling your almost new DeWalt bandsaw!
