What’s this little tool for. It’s just over 7” in length, its profile is unusual so must have had a specific use.

Thanks Eddy, DW, your most likely on the money. Shame it’s to small a tool for my lathe work.

Well now, I have one too - so perhaps not shop made? Mine came from my father in law, who didn't own a lathe. I always assumed it was for deep slots.

Interesting Deadeye, mine came out of one of my fathers or grandfathers tool chests too, my father did not have a lathe, my g/f was a carpenter so could have but I think it unlikely.
Is yours the same size?
Maybe I’ll remove the handle and see if there’s a stamp mark.
 
It's multi use scraper, for fitting of white metal bearings.
One edge is flat, another is curved, the end for small areas.
Possible Moore & Wright made tool.
