hi
I have just got hold of a bench planer in very good working order (works very well) blades are in good condition but there will come atime when they need replacing so a quick look on flebay and amazon OMG a set cost more than double the cost of the planer so where can I get a set of 3 or 2 set of 2.

many thanks in advance

Just buy the plain blade stock from Doug at Cutting Solutions and get the hole either laser or water jet drilled. Doug might be able to get it done for you?
He is a helpful chap.

yes thats an idea, hopefully a last resort, as the more steps in the process the more expensive it becomes. I will ring Cutting Solutions, I did send them an email with blade details yesterday but no reply as yet
cheers

I wonder if anyone has a forgotten set on the top shelf of a dark and dingy no no no light and airy workshop :D

It seems that they are only 1/16 thick which is in unusual. Might also have to get 3mm ground down to size.
Many knives have a small strip of hss on a steel backer. This means you could drill the holes yourself and save that cost.
Good luck

hi
Doug at cutting solutions got back to me but is not able to help.
I think another name for the planner is a Myford PR11, but still no luck for blades under that name.
thanks for all comments so far
cheers
