When I first joined this forum and not having done any kind of woodwork before I was a little dis-heartened after having a browse through various sections and seeing some of the things that you people had made, some really stunning projects and builds, the skill dedication and of course expence for tools and materials etc.
I continued reading and looking at the pictures and kept thinking maybe woodwork isn't for me (in the past I could split a tree with a picture nail ), however I stumbled on some postings by a guy now sadly departed and my enthusiasm was lifted again, this bloke inspired me because he had a simplistic and practical way of doing things, and used cheap and simple materials and methods, he wasn't about 'show', but he was skillful and inventive.
Anyhoo,
after years of 'friendly persuasion' from SWMBO about her 'forehead aerosol injuries' I decided to put my recently bought bandsaw to good use, and made this, and here's to you Niki-may you continue to inspire
