still getting used to rounded edges (i suspect i need to be faster and smoother for them) and on some corners i get some run-in, so cut more than intended on the inside, but not too bad and on the outside go too far then need to try and bring it back.
I used the blue tape method, so blue masking tape from B&Q (about £7), spray mount the paper (only spray they had, £10 but used only a spit of it) and cut. worked really well and easy, the only suggestion i would make is when putting the tape on, overlap from the bottom so that it comes off in 1 go, rather than needing to pick a couple of times.
Just need to sand a few rough bits, but came out quite well, also i was rushing in between work as well.
the base was also part of the design, so just (like the base of the words), mounted the flat edge to the edge of the wood, and then saves on one edge cutting to save time. I also rounded off the top edge of the base with my router just to make it look a bit nicer. I did want to Ogee bit the edge but it would have left me with the centre too narrow, but i may cut another wider one tomorrow and see how that looks.
Really just after finishing now, not sure what would suit it, i don't want to paint, but not sure what finish to put on.
