While browsing through some back-issues of Fine Woodworking I came across reference to the Multi-Router for making joints in small items like table legs. It sounded very much like the horizntal router that intrigued me a while back.

So googling I found the overview page and the more I read through the bumph the more intrigued I became. Oooh...thinks I...must have one of those for Xmas.

Then I saw the price :shock:

Suddenly the Woodrat takes on a whole new life :D
 
yep, insanely expensive. But cool gadget, highly regarded by it's owners. There are plans out there to make your own.
 
You would have to be totally insane to even consider buying that thing at that price...

For only a few pounds more you could be the proud owner of a Moretens MF 30.

An all singing and dancing spindle moulder that also does horizontal morticing but then on an industrial quality machine.

The JDS multirouter looks to be in the same class of nutty ideas as the ridiculously over engineered (and priced) Ultracut RS800.
